Those working alone, without close or direct supervision, are particularly vulnerable to health and safety risk. This may be due to the work activity carried out or the location and time at which the activity is carried out. They encounter a range of hazards which can cause injury or ill health. An employer is required to ensure the health, safety and welfare of all employees. Further a risk asessment should be carried out in line with the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 (as amended).
