WORK RELATED STRESS

WORK RELATED STRESS

Stress is where an imbalance exists between the demands of the work and the ability of the employee to cope with those demands. Stress leads to a range of effects on health and may lead to significant time away from work. The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 (as amended) requires that a suitable and sufficient assessment of risk is carried out to reduce the risk to the health and safety of empoyees. This requirement includes the assessment of stress in the workplace.

JRL Solutions Ltd provides a  half day course for managers and those who will carry out stress risk assessments to raise awareness for stress issues and to assist in meeting their obligations.

The syllabus includes:-

  • what is stress?
  • how is it caused by work?
  • potential health effects
  • evaluation of risk
  • control of risk
