THERMAL

THERMAL

JRL Solutions Ltd carries out assessments of the thermal environment. A good thermal environment has a positive effect on the health, comfort and satisfaction of employees. It can lead to improvement in motivation and increased productivity. Employees can suffer a range of health problems if the thermal environment is unsatisfactory resulting in time away from their work.

The standards include the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992, Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992 and relevant British Standards such as BS EN 9241 and BS EN ISO 7730.

The thermal environment includes the following parameters:-

  • ambient temperature
  • radiant temperature
  • relative humidity
  • air velocity

There are also the following factors to consider:-

  • clothing
  • metabolic heat

Employers should assess the parameters of the thermal environment, including their measurement, to ensure standards are being met. JRL Solutions Ltd is competent to carry out this assessment and uses the appropriate scientific instruments and equipment.
