IOSH DSE ASSESSMENT

IOSH DSE ASSESSMENT

JRL Solutions Ltd is licensed by IOSH to provide the IOSH DSE Risk Assessment course.

The course is of two day duration and is examined by the successful completion of a practical DSE workstation assessment and the achievement of a pass in a written paper.

The programme includes:-

  • Introduction
  • Why do we need to know about DSE, who is affected and in what way?
  • What do we need to know about the legal requirements relating to DSE?
  • When and where do we need to apply the minimum requirements detailed in the Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations?
  • How are the minimum requirements relating to DSE workstations achieved in a practical way in order to integrate with overall safety management?

On completion of the course candidates are able to:-

  • List and explain the main requirements of relevant legislation
  • Describe the possible harmful effects to the eyes, musculoskeletal system, skin, nervous system and psychological wellbeing of people that may be caused by the use of DSE
  • Carry out risk assessments, identify techniques for reducing risk and make recommendations for corrective action to minimise harm that may be caused to DSE users and operators
  • Appreciate how DSE assessment is an integral part of overall health and safety management in an organisation 

Successful candidates receive a Certificate awarded by IOSH, Assessing Risks for Computer Users, Display Screen Equipment Risk Assessment.
