JRL Solutions Ltd helps employers to meet their obligations under legislation to develop and implement a health and safety policy.
Under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 it is a legal requirement for you to have a health and safety
policy. If you have five or more employees you will need to have a written health and safety policy
statement. A policy is the starting point to effectively manage health and safety. It shows what your organisation wants to achieve, who is going to achieve it and how it is going to be done. The policy should be specific to your
organisation and not generic.
The policy should include the following:-
- Statement of intent, which shows the aims and the objectives agreed to achieve those aims. It demonstrates
the commitment that your organisation has for good health and safety.
- Organisation, which defines the main roles and responsibilities of people for managing health and safety.
- Arrangements, which outlines how you are going to manage health and safety under issues relevant to your
organisation.
If the organisation already has a health and safety policy JRL Solutions Ltd will evaluate its effectiveness and make recommendations for its revision.
If the organisation does not have a health and safety policy or it is out of date JRL Solutions Ltd will write an appropriate policy based on the risks that the organisation presents. JRL Solutions Ltd helps the organisation to implement the policy and, if requested, develops the policy into a health and safety management system which could then gain accreditation as a recognised health and safety management standard such as OSHAS 18001.
Additionally JRL Solutions Ltd advises organisations on how to best consult with their employees on the health and safety policy.
