There is a legal requirement to investigate accidents and incidents. The main reason for the investigation of accidents and incidents is to prevent a recurrence by identifying the immediate and root causes. Additionally the investigation of accidents and incidents may be required for statistical purposes, to identify trends, to satisfy insurance requirements or to assist in legal procedures.
JRL Solutions Ltd provides a four day course in Accident and Incident Investigation to enable specialists and others who are interested to carry out more effective investigations. The course is based on HSG 245, Investigating Accidents and Incidents.
The syllabus includes the following:-
• Introduction, why accidents and incidents happen, definitions, why do it?
• Principles of investigation and procedures
• Using a range of investigatory techniques to support effective investigation
• Developing approaches to investigation
